Placement of the personnel function within the organisational structure of corporate groups
Abstract
This chapter presents the question of locating the personnel function in organisational systems of corporate groups: it discusses theoretical aspects of the location and analyses centralisation and decentralisation as well as concentration and dispersion of the entities forming a group of enterprises. It also provides a typology of corporate groups, describes typical groups by the managerial role of their parent company. The chapter is composed of two parts. The first one, which is introductory, is a theoretical analysis of the issue discussed there based on the results of literature studies. The second one, presents the results of the empirical research carried out in the explored groups.
