Abstract
Nowadays, producers as well as consumers have very strict requirements for packaging. It should fulfill all of its functions in terms of the protection of the product, but at the same time they should be easy and fast in terms of production technology. The level of quality and sustainability of food is still increasing - that process is shaped by a new generation of packaging. Food require the use of the constantly innovating types of packaging materials. Packaging should protect the product in the highest level. Improvement of this area includes active packaging and smart packaging.
