Semiotyczny wymiar komunikacji wirtualnej wśród młodzieży i jego konsekwencje społeczne
Abstract
New technology has introduced us to many new forms of communication. Mobile devices such as cellular phones and wireless handheld computers, along with the Internet, have triggered the creation of a new cyber language. This language, or “lingo,” is a combination of acronyms and abbreviations. The lingo is shorter and easier to type than the complete words or sentences. However, it is not so easy to decipher. To most, it looks like a foreign language. These acronyms, abbreviations, and emoticons form a cryptic code that is often difficult to decipher, making it a challenge to read e-mails or instant messages that teens are sending. Without understanding this Internet lingo, adults cannot understand the types of interactions their children experience on the Internet.
