Abstract
This study of a broadly defined motive of frontiers and borderlines in socio-cultural and identity context concentrates on the biography of Edward W. Said, an American writer and literary critic of Palestinian origin, and analyzes it from philosophical, psychological and sociological perspectives based on the theoretical works of Zygmunt Bauman and Paul Ricoeur.
