Abstract
The article is an attempt to define atheism as a concept. The author of this work discusses the notion of the present time in Comte-Sponville’s writing. The present – not the future or the past – is the most important time for people. It can help us to achieve happiness. Luiza Kula attempts to show that work and other activities are enough to bring us satisfaction in this life. The idea of God’s existence turns out to be the most dangerous thing a man can face, because thoughts of heaven impede his activity.
