Hansa Driescha filozofia świata organicznego. Od eksperymentu biologicznego do metafizycznej teorii witalizmu
Abstract
This paper presents the way in which Hans Driesch‟s experiments in embryology led him to the concept of vitalism. The aim of the article is to expose the continuity of Driesch‟s concept which composes one consistent philosophy of nature, beginning from his biological research and moving towards his philosophical reflection. The author argues that it is impossible to separate Driesch‟s earlier experimental work from his later philosophical deliberations which were essentially based on the earlier biological research. The conclusion of the article is that any charges against Driesch for the radical act of abandoning experimental work in the domain of biology in favour of scientifically groundless venture into the domain of pure philosophy are quite unsound.
