Uroczystości jasnogórskie 3 maja 1968 roku w materiałach Służby Bezpieczeństwa
Abstract
The article presents the documents of SB (Polish communist Security Service) from
1968 related to procedures of securing - observing and documenting - religious ceremonies held on 3rd May in Jasna Góra Monastery. They depict the scope of interests of the security apparatus as well as forces and measures used during its actions. The material complements the information on the Church-state relations in the period of Polish People’s Republic and emphasizes how much attention was paid to the religiousness of Poles, which was treated as hostile and dangerous behaviour towards the system. The authorities also attached particular importance to guests from capitalist countries, who were interested in such ceremonies.
