Streszczenie
The subject of the following article centers around the issue of postmemory (a term by M. Hirsch) basing on Może Estera (published in 2015), an autobiogra- phical work written by Katia Petrowska, who follows her relatives’ memories sear- ching not only for her family history but also for her own identity. The main aim is both to present the experience of “the second generation” in the context of the phenomenon of postmemory and to analyze the effect of transmitted memories and on next generation representatives’ narrative and identity. Interpreting the subject of postmemory the authoress provides a theoretical background referen- cing, among others, the thought of M. Hirsch, K. Goertz.
