The study was commis-sioned by the Ministry of national education and conducted among 466 par-ents and guardians in 2016. The aim of the study was to show the level of knowledge and skills regarding electronic threats and views on education in the era of digital media dominance. A competency test measuring knowledge and skills served as a research tool. The results showed that parents have a relatively high level of knowledge in terms of ergonomics of using new media, but an unsatisfactory level of awareness in the field of copyright.
