dc.description.abstractIn this paper I attempt to describe a creative imagination as a process. I find it useful especially in a theory of literature and in contemporary revision of a notion of subjectivity. I follow mythopoetic theory by Harold Bloom who writes about misreading – reading which is at once a creation of a new poem. Diachronic imagination becomes here misimagination. Misimagining subjectivity is shaped by its continuous struggle to break free from influences. In Bloom agon is a set of revisionary ratios interwoven with poetic crossings. It is a cycle of gasping for breath, spreading of the subjectivity of the poet and contraction, rejecting of everything which seems borrowed. Two Alice books by Lewis Carroll allows me to present this theoretical construction. Misimaginings of an oneiric world and of dependent, avatar-like Alice’s subjectivity makes me ask the question: can this little, fictional girl go by the name of strong misimagining subjectivity?en
