Abstract

Th e paper presents a method which evaluates ecological corridors’ stability. It uses the CORINE Land Cover Change data. The method was applied to evaluate stability of plan of ecological corridors linking the Natura 2000 network in Poland. Two voivodeships – lubuskie and podlaskie were taken as an example. A typology of land cover changes was made. It was shown that not only the type, but also the kind of land cover change is important for fauna migration. The results show that ecological corridors stability diff ers in analyzed periods (1990–2000 and 2000–2006) and regions (voivodeships).
