Zazdaniowość i ekspresywizm w teorii prawdy : analiza stanowiska Roberta B. Brandoma
Abstract
The paper presents and discusses the prosentential theory of truth, putting a particular stress on the latest reformulation of this theory - set out by Robert B. Brandom within hi wider inferential conception of meaning. After explaining tha basic concepts of anaphora and prosentence, the author describes the original version of prosententialism as put forward by Grover, Camp and Belnap in the 1970s. Then, in this context, he analyzes Brandom's version of prosentential theory, underlining its distinctive features: deflationism concerning truth's role in explaining conceptual contentfulness and expressivism in articulating previously determined content. He also emphasizes the pragmatic significance of the concept of truth in communication.
