Liberalizm izraelski w filozofii Yeshayahu Leibowitza
Abstract
The article explores the Israeli Liberalism through the ideas of one of the most influential Israeli philosopher of XX century, Yeshayahu Leibowitz, an intellectual that smoothly combined Western liberal-democratic traditions with Jewish heritage of Judaism and Zionism (both religious and political). The article was divided into three parts. In the first one the authors highlighted the importance of Western Liberalism, while in the second tried to the connect the expansion of the liberal thought with the social evolution of Israeli world perception and that developed together from religious Zionism and socialism through indi-vidualism and capitalism. The last part is devoted mainly to Leibowitz’s thoughts related to the state and laws and their relations with religion in a context of the Israeli society and the ideas of freedom, equality and individualism.
