dc.description.abstract | The article aims at presenting the technique of data collection, hereinafter referred to as autoethnography. The discussed concept will be presented in its two variants: evocative and analytic autoethnography. Reference will be made to some specific key features of the latter. The discussion will also cover the issue of usefulness of the analytic autoethnography in the GTM-based research and in the symbolic interaction-oriented research. I am also going to present an example of the use of analytic autoethnography in the embodiment research and a way of applying one to the GTM procedures, i.e. open coding. At the end of this paper, the discussion
will revolve around the advantages and disadvantages of the method in question. Finally, I will voice my doubts about the applicability of the said method. | en |
