dc.description.abstract | The article is concerned with the theoretical basis for alienation of the individual as well as practical forms of its functioning, social influence and its political peculiarities within modern liberalism. The paper clarifies basic values and characteristic features of modern liberalism which directly influence and form alienation. Discourse analysis is used to define three levels on which alienation can be detected: socia l, ideological and political. On the political level alienation manifests itself in political institutions, both on the national and supranational level. At the level of ideology it is visible in the development of shared values, such as tolerance which should draw together the maximum number of people. At the social level, what is advocated by liberal theories is the exclusion of science, including political sciences as science is alienated itself and based on the desire to create a new god common for all human beings. | en |
