Uczestnik sztuki jako świadek w hermeneutyce Hansa-Georga Gadamera. Uwagi na marginesie wystawy „Fabryka” w CSW Znaki Czasu w Toruniu
Abstract
One of the conclusions emerging from Gadamer‟s thought on the traditional notion of the recipient of art suggests that s/he should be placed in a position highlighting his/her role as an active participant in an artistic situation. The framework marked out by the concepts used to tackle this problem allows me to create an interpretation of such a participant also on the axiological plane. It means that the person revealed in the terms “player” or “partaker” is overwhelmed with the values created by a work of art, which makes him/her its witness. The subject of this article is therefore the moral dimension of human existence at play in the transformation of human consciousness and its effect clearly visible in human works and doings. The model of participant-witness would accordingly play an important, unifying role for hermeneutics. A description of moral existence connected with participation in art reconciles philosophical tradition with the Christian model, while giving insight into the functioning of the practical consciousness.
