Transkulturowość czy trankulturacja? O perypetiach pewnego bardzo modnego terminu

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to present the history and definitions of the term transculturality. Although the concept of transculturality fits perfectly into the postmodern, culture discourse, its semantic field is still very inprecize. That is why in this short text I intent to compile the most important scientific definitions of this term and try to explain why they aren’t well known in scientific cultural discourse causing a lot of misunderstundings. At the end I try to create a list of the most common characteristics of the term of transculturality, which can be a introducction to create a larger theory of this term.
