Elżbieta Zarzycka-Pawlak, Sylwetka naukowa Józefa K. Szaniawskiego na tle kultury filozoficznej pierwszej połowy XIX wieku

Abstract

The subject of this article is a description fo life and work of Józef Kalasanty Szaniawski who is not recognized as a philosopher, but is known a person that had a huge influence on social and political life in 19th century. This article paves the path for the understanding of his thought in the context of 19th-century intellectual culture. It also demonstrates the sociocultural background of Szaniawski‟s philosophy and discusses the main issues he was preoccupied with in order to place them in their proper place on the map of Polish philosophy.
