Nuclear Terrorist Attack as an Example of Serious Threat

Abstract

In this chapter the potential yet considerable threat of a terrorist nuclear attack is presented. The author describes the possible sources from which terrorists may obtain nuclear weapons as well as outlining the problems posed for crisis management in the eventuality of such an attack. Two scenarios of nuclear attack are analyzed: open and hidden scenarios.
