Archiwum rodzinne Kossakowskich

Abstract
Michał Kossakowski bought the Wojtuszki estate from his neighbor Michał Skorupski in 1764. A palace and the lands became the seat of the family, where for the next few years were collected archival materials on Kossakowskis family and the related families. Grandson of Michał K o s s a k ow s k i , i .e. S t a n i sław Szczęsny created in the palace a separate room to store the archival records and hired an archivist to organize the archive. A son of Stanisław Szczęsny, i.e. Stanisław Kazimierz, used the collected records to write his work: Historical and genealogical monography of some Polish families. The Wojtuszki Archives survived the death of Stanisław Kazimierz in 1905. Then the records were divided between his sons: Józef (entail Lachowice), Michał Stanisław and Jan Eustachy. Only part of the archive remained in Wojtkuszki, and the rest was transported to Wielka Brzostowica and Nidoków. In the result of the both World Wars the estates and large part of the archives were lost. Today records remain scattered, creating collections in libraries and archives in Poland, Lithuania and Belarus.
