Abstract
Intensive processes taking place in a modern media society led to the conclusion that not only the natural biological environment of the human being requires intensive protection – if humanity is to survive – but also his mental environment. The submitted study highlights that pastoral care has also an irreplaceable role in this regard because according to the words of the Apostolic Exhortation Evangelia gaudium (No. 61): “We evangelize even when we are trying to cope with various emerging challenges”. Serious treatment of the pastoral care needs therefore – according to the author – not only the establishment of a specialized center to monitor this phenomenon but also to compile pastoral aids aimed at effective prevention because such actions exceed both the competence and capabilities of average pastors.
